Checking I found I now had a new ttings file, which I replaced with my backup copy of my old file. But on opening VMS17 my render template favorites weren't shown.
This time it didn't get overwritten and was still there after the update installation. Render Templates Favorites - in the past I've found the file ('ttings' in User\AppData\Roaming\VEGAS\Render Templates) gets overwritten with a zero file wiping your templates. The exception was in the Display tab where I'm sure Track Colors and Envelope Colors were showing my old customised colors. Options/Preferences - I found most of my custom preferences had disappeared leaving me to redo them. But on reflection it might help others so here goes.
